Engineering Medicine International Summer School is hosted by the Medical Engineering & Engineering Medicine Innovation Center (ME&EMIC) at the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University. The program will take place in Hangzhou, China, with registration on July 12, followed by the main program running from July 13 to July 28. It offers a unique chance to experience China’s rich culture and natural scenery while engaging with international experts and peers in bioengineering. The first week (Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17) emphasizes academic excellence through expert-led lectures and practical workshops delivered by globally recognized scholars. Participants will explore frontier areas including human biomechanics, smart biomaterials for tissue engineering, and AI-enabled medical device prototyping. Interactive sessions may include workshops on 3D-printed implants and flexible sensors, designed to spark collaboration, creativity, and innovation. While the second week (Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24) focuses on Industry Exposure & Cultural Experience that blends professional insight with cultural immersion. Students will visit leading biomedical companies in China to gain first-hand exposure to innovation and real-world translation. Cultural activities will showcase Hangzhou’s heritage, with excursions such as West Lake, traditional silk craftsmanship, and Longjing (green tea) gardens. The program concludes on July 28 with departure arrangements. This Summer School is open to current students and recent graduates from universities outside China who hold a non-Chinese passport. English proficiency is required. We warmly welcome you to apply for the Beihang MEEMIC Biomedical Engineering Summer School.
