Dates: July 13, 2026 – July 26, 2026 (expected)
Location: Beihang Hangzhou International Campus, No. 166, Shuanghongqiao Street, Pingyao Town, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, China
Overview:
The 2026 International Summer School on Embodied AI and Intelligent Systems: Perception, Actuation, and Collaboration is hosted by the International Research Center for Intelligent Systems and Robotics (IRCISR), Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University. This summer school is dedicated to building a high-level platform for academic dialogue among outstanding students worldwide. The program focuses on cutting-edge fields, including spatial intelligent perception, humanoid embodied intelligence, ultra-precision opto-mechatronic systems, MEMS actuators and sensors, multi-robot coordination in complex space environments, and space service robotics. Through a comprehensive exchange framework featuring "Keynote Reports by Academicians, Specialized Lectures by Leading Supervisors, Immersive Laboratory Practice, and Multi-dimensional Academic Seminars," the program guides students to systematically understand the full technical chain—from micro-nano sensing and actuation mechanisms to macro-scale collective collaboration. Participants will gain direct insight into the center’s core research breakthroughs in complex space environments. By providing a gateway for face-to-face interaction between young global scholars and top-tier experts, this initiative aims to explore fundamental scientific questions and share international research resources. It offers participants the opportunity to experience the center’s advanced infrastructure, expand their academic horizons, and promote the cross-institutional cultivation of high-level innovative talents and the development of a robust academic ecosystem.
Curriculum:
The 2026 International Summer School aims to establish a high-level academic ecosystem. This seven-day program features 4 keynote reports and in-depth discussions led by academicians and industry experts. Closely aligned with the center's core research directions, the curriculum is structured into 4 distinct teaching modules. Each module consists of 12 theoretical credit hours and 12 immersive practical credit hours, creating a closed-loop cultivation process from fundamental principles to real-world applications. The program includes 4 specialized academic seminars to encourage multidimensional intellectual exchange. The event concludes with a showcase of modular practical achievements and a comprehensive interdisciplinary symposium.
Faculty for the summer school:
This summer school will invite at least 4 academicians or field experts to deliver academic reports and engage in professional discussions. Furthermore, at least 8 professors or associate professors from Beihang University (BUAA) will be organized to conduct lectures for the respective modular courses.
Participant Composition:
This summer school plans to enroll 60 students, primarily targeting senior undergraduate and master’s students with a background in science and engineering. Applications are open to both domestic and international students.
